Growing up, as a very little girl, all I ever wanted to be was to be a Mommy. I day dreamed about it and really only played M*A*S*H so I could see how many children I may possibly have with hopefully Prince Eric and my pet Dolphin…in our Shack. Lol, I always got the Shack.

My dream of having a house full of babies didn’t so much become a reality. I have given birth twice – to two beautiful little girls and tragically miscarried three other VERY LOVED children.

In 2019 we said YES to being Foster Parents and fell deeply in love with our foster babies. It was one of the most amazing and difficult experiences of our life.

As our foster children moved on and we have been working through the grief that comes along with falling in love with children that you don’t get to keep, mothering and fathering them as your own, and then saying goodbye we have been praying about fostering again in the future.

Our big prayer request is that we can someday adopt. I’d love to have another baby of our own but after three miscarriages, it just seems to be something that isn’t going to happen for us.

Proverbs 31 is a great chapter to read about being a Godly mother. Nothing God does is on mistake or without a purpose. The Proverbs 31 woman is a Godly example for all of us. We don’t have to be exactly like her but she is a Biblical role model for us all.

“Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”
Proverbs 31:28-29

“She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.”
Proverbs 31:27

Some other verses for Mamas…

“…and so train the young women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled, pure, working at home, kind, and submissive to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be reviled.”
Titus 2:4-5

“And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them (God’s Commandments) diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.”
Deuteronomy 6:6-7

When it comes to my littles I am a fierce Mama Bear.

The world is doing everything it can, led by the prince of darkness himself – satan, to lead our children astray, groom them for sin, and have them want nothing to do with the things of the Lord.

Our children went to public school for two years but after Covid hit and more and more news came out about the far Left’s agenda and plans to indoctrinate children in their wicked, God-dishonoring, sinful opinions on sex and gender … we pulled our children out and are now Homeschooling.

I share a lot of these reliable articles on my FB page

I definitely use my platform to stand against the evil that is meant to harm our littles. I want to encourage Mothers to take up their role as Christian teachers and disciple makers for their children.

It is our job (Dads too) to show them how to love God and how God loves women, for the girls – how to be modest and live a life of purity, for the boys – what kind of woman they will want to pursue when looking for a wife, how to sparkle in their uniqueness … and for the girls how to still manage to have a gentle and quiet spirit, even if they have loud and extroverted personalities.

It’s our job to teach them how to be kind to others, how to have friendships and maintain them. How to serve with our hearts first and our hands and feet will follow. It’s our job to teach them about their bodies and about how puberty changes us. Boy-Moms, your Hubby’s will probably take this one but maybe not. I’d love to hear how you and your hubby handled talking to your sons about the birds and the bees.

It’s our job to show them how a wife treats her husband in a way that holds up to what the Bible teaches. We need to be teaching our littles about the Bible, how to pray and memorize Scripture.

These are things I am working on in myself and with my daughters. We’re NEVER going to get it perfect Mama’s but that’s not the calling here. The calling is to obey and rely on God’s strength to see us through. His grace is sufficient for us – always!
